The CSP
The Community Safety Partnership
The Westmorland and Furness Community Safety Partnership (CSP) is established to meet the requirements of Section 5 & 6 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and any amendments made to it in subsequent legislation. The Westmorland and Furness CSP also fulfils the roles required of Drug Action Teams under legislation and government arrangements and to oversee the requirements of the Prevent Duty.
To promote and exercise a collective responsibility within the partnership and to evidence a strategic approach towards identified priorities with a clear focus on the reduction of crime, anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime within the geographical area of the Westmorland and Furness CSP.
Principles
In the execution of its duties, the Westmorland and Furness CSP will, at all times, be guided by the following principles:

QUALITY OF LIFE – ensuring that all the work of the Westmorland and Furness CSP seeks to improve the quality of life for all residents.
COHESION – ensuring that the people and communities of our geographical area have a sense of belonging and engagement with the partnership.
EVIDENCE BASED OUTCOMES – ensuring that the Westmorland and Furness CSP agenda and decision-making process focuses on adding value and making tangible progress based on evidence.
