Westmorland & Furness CSP - Community Conversation

The Westmorland and Furness Community Safety Partnership is launching a Community Conversation to support the development a new Community Safety Partnership Plan for 2027-30.  

The CSP is made up of a wide range of organisations that work together to keep our communities safe. Collectively they respond to the challenges people face and focus on making Westmorland and Furness a safe place to live, work, study and visit.

The Community Conversation provides an opportunity to people to offer their views and feedback on a wide range of issues and concerns. The online questionnaire asks about how safe people feel in their local community and what type of crime has the most impact on them. 

We would also like to hear views on what concerns people the most. 

Findings from the survey will then be used to plan and shape the next set of priorities that the partnership will focus on over a three year period.

Those who do not have access to the internet can visit their local Westmorland and Furness Library to complete the survey online or request a paper copy.

We want to hear from residents, workers, businesses and community groups across Westmorland and Furness.

Angela Jones, the new Chair of the Westmorland and Furness Community Safety Partnership, said: “I am proud to be stepping into this role and look forward to continuing the great work that is being done to make Westmorland and Furness safe for everyone. Feedback from this Community Conversation will ensure we understand the issues that matter to people and ensure that the future priorities and actions reflect the experiences of our communities. Whether your concerns relate to antisocial behaviour, crime, safety in public spaces, road safety or other community issues, your views are important.” 

Cllr Judith Derbyshire, the Cabinet Member for Community Safety at Westmorland and Furness Council added: “By taking a few minutes to complete the survey, you'll help us build a safer, stronger and more resilient Westmorland and Furness for everyone. This is your opportunity to share your insights which will help shape community safety activity and campaigns in Westmorland and Furness. Please share the survey with your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. The more people who take part, the better we can understand local concerns and work together to make a positive difference across Westmorland and Furness.”

The online survey is live here from 3rd August to 18th September. Paper copies must be received by 28th September.
